Alphabet Soup, Words, and Dictators

Unfortunately, I retired from eating things that come in cans. The over-processing and chemical additives have made it inedible. I have eaten many cans of soup in my day though. My favorite soup to look at is "vegetable" soup. The letters always fascinated me as a child, and though the chance was remote, I always peered into my bowl, hoping a word would appear. As I grew, I found the famous, fortune telling magic eight ball. It gives a response every time, even when it blows you off. Even though I was taught that this toy was satanic, I felt like there was more substance to the ball than there was in the teaching that I recieved; at least it's magic was reliable. Also, if a word had ever appeared in my bowl it would have meant so much more.    Meanwhile, there are decisions being made every day that you are probably not seeing. It may be that you are peering into your alphabet soup, waiting for a word to appear. The bad news is that every bite you take leaves you...

Wake Up God

I'm sure there are plenty of arguements about whether there is a benevolent godhead pulling the strings of humanity, or if there are only people who believe in that thing, but are actually the ones that made the whole thing up. Feel free to comment. Religion was fabricated to keep societies at ease with the horrors going on around them every day. Governments generally have a difficult time executing god, as in dissipating the idea of a leader higher than them. It's no secret, and it has been written about extensively. There can be no true central power while it's servants serve something other than it. The Communist Manifesto spells it out very plainly when it says that government has to become god to succeed. The funny part is that America's people have let the real puppeteers take us to the brink of a truly central, truly elite ruling class. I won't make a call for action; everyone believed what they were told.    They made the bed we lie in. Since religion i...

The New Imperialist

Image
Imperialism is such a tricky word these days. It's another one of those words whose definition has been subdued for it's true nature; blatant theft of life, land, and culture. Imperialism did not end with our "procurement" of the Hawaian Islands. It didn't end when Britain stole the Falklands. It didn't end at 50 states because it was a good number. It hasn't ended at all. The difference between the glory days of pillaging new frontiers and the more modern form are slight. The main difference is that we pick targets for nothing more than natural resources or strategic posturing. We don't even look for good slave labor any more; just new ways to kill.    During the more innocent years, we sent missionaries into new lands first. The idea was that if the savages of this land, or that could be subdued, saved, and churched with the fear of some alien god, then there would be no need for guns. The first option didn't really work; ever.     The secon...

Slapped, DC Style

Now that a handful of us are waking up, tired of the pocket pool tournament in Washington, I have to point something out. One way or another they find a way to slap us every day. Whether you are waiting on funds for "Sandy", running from the IRS, or hungry because milk costs $4 a gallon, you are being slapped. Your gas is a tax that our central government can raise and lower at will. The federal tax per gallon was an average of 18 cents per gallon before April, 2012. Now the national average is 50 cents per gallon. Wouldn't it be nice if we had an account that we could raise our interest rates on every time we wanted to buy a large ticket item? I would buy our military back from those dupes. It's worth over $600 billion this year. I could buy Hostess twelve times.    That won't happen, so what now? Could we remove the taxes on junk food? That is a direct tax on everyone, and with upwards of 50 million families on food stamps it seems to be working against the ...

Bomb Threat

Back when I was in high school, there were probably two bomb threats. The drill was always the same; get out of the building as fast as you can, in an orderly fashion, "no cause for panic" -this is after we were told there "might" be a bomb in the school. I always assumed we would get out before it blew, but we never knew it was a drill until we were called back to class. One bomb threat was called in from the school payphone; the kind that you put loose change in to talk. This happened because we didn't live on alert. The plans and contingency plans were very basic, and no one really thought about "What if?"    There was a sinister shift in American culture in 2001; one could say it was a blind-sided bomb threat that followed through, no drills. The ripple effect of that day has woven itself into our society very deeply, and our losses persist to the present. It's hard to believe that we still have to surround Iran; I meant to say it's a s...

How Do You Spell Obama?

Dear Mr. President, my friends, as well as I, have to talk to you about a few items. I will try to be nice because we voted for you and actively campaigned for you to get where you are today -both times. I know where you personally stand on many issues after reading your books, and some other's books about you. I felt like a child at Disney World for the first time when I read "The Audacity of Hope". It is a wonderful collection of ideals from the mouth of a true Progressive. Your words reminded me of FDR, and Wilson; there is even a tone of JFK present in the pages.    I have studied your mentors, and I can see Mr. Saul Alinsky's liberating message woven into your philosophy. I also read that you know your ideas are probably fit for a generation centuries from now because you know that our central government and it's ability to concentrate power has been retarded by idiots. You even said that we should double-check the "representation" we are entitl...

Paul Ryan 2016

Paul Ryan 20 South Main Street Suite 10 Janesville, WI 53545 Phone: (608) 752-4050 Fax: (608) 752-4711 Toll Free: (888) 909-RYAN (7926) "How Can Paul Help?" "As the Congressman for Wisconsin’s 1st District, one of the most important jobs I have is to provide assistance to my constituents.  Providing help with a problem involving a federal agency or helping obtain an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol are only a few examples of the number of services that I provide to those I represent." ( paulryan.house.gov/constituentservices/ ) Yes, that's what it says at the top of his website.    Mr. Ryan is planning a run for president in 2016. I can tell by the grin on his face that he really thinks he has a shot. After all, somebody has to win. I can picture him getting ready for work in the morning, doing what Mitt taught him to do; "Look in the mirror every morning and say, 'I am the president of the United States of America!' with gusto....
