Wake Up God
I'm sure there are plenty of arguements about whether there is a benevolent godhead pulling the strings of humanity, or if there are only people who believe in that thing, but are actually the ones that made the whole thing up. Feel free to comment. Religion was fabricated to keep societies at ease with the horrors going on around them every day. Governments generally have a difficult time executing god, as in dissipating the idea of a leader higher than them. It's no secret, and it has been written about extensively. There can be no true central power while it's servants serve something other than it. The Communist Manifesto spells it out very plainly when it says that government has to become god to succeed. The funny part is that America's people have let the real puppeteers take us to the brink of a truly central, truly elite ruling class. I won't make a call for action; everyone believed what they were told.
They made the bed we lie in. Since religion is such a great tool for our government, from the onset, it has been left to it's own devices. It is a powerful propaganda tool that manages itself. It is doing a great enough job at keeping people stupid that they are still granted tax exemption. Wouldn't it be a huge cash pot for our leaders to spend? I would personally make it my first priority -if it were up to me. I would use the revenue to dismantle starvation instead of nations. No matter; they can spend their millions on dismantling culture all over the globe, and lobbying DC to squeeze others' rights.
I only cite the church of America to contrast it with the level of commitment in the Nation of Islam. These people believe. They believe to the point of rising up against oppressive government. This commitment has caused a ripple effect that extends far beyond religion. There is much unrest in the Middle East and a constant fear in the West of instability; at least it appears to be a problem. These warriors are enlightened, and they want freedom and representation. They seem to be gaining traction and it is not because W sprayed democracy on them. That was just something that he thought would be a good hook for what he was about to do. Despite their internal divisions, they seem to be serious.
Now it is (was) up to Mr. Obama. Arming the resistance in Syria. Moving military assets around. If it doesn't work out, he figured out that there is no law higher than he and we have lots of big toys that shoot some really cool shit out of them. I wish he hadn't allegedly tasted the blood of Osama; now he can't stop -a fox in the hen house. So far in 2013 (as of 1/8/13) there have been six drone attacks in Pakistan, that have killed at least 35 people. That's 35 in eight days! In 2010 there were 122 drone strikes in Pakistan, which translates into about one every eight days. The strange part is that the 2012 number was only 43. I bet there is a correlation between that number and a recent election...
The president and his people are making it hard to pledge allegiance to the flag, or anything in this country. We are hardly united, and if god were over us, he would either be laughing or crying; maybe laughing hard enough to cry. I am at a loss for something to believe in, and I feel great. There is just one thing that needs to happen here to move toward change.
Division. We are divided in the wrong ways. The religious divide is useless; you either sleep with your religion, or are disgusted by it. If you are religious, the chances are high that you are either completely lethargic or do not have enough troops to rally around your zeal. Politically, there is really nothing of substance to divide such a huge country. Media can paint pictures that suggest a 50/50 split in our politics, but there is no rational or statistical possibilty of that really being true. The last "landslide" victory in the US belonged to Ron Reagan in 1980, but that was by electoral votes (90%) and not the popular vote. It really wasn't a landslide; Reagan had 50% of the popular vote, to Jimmy's 40%. How many of us vote for anything more than a sticker to show our co-workers? Political conviction has been handed to a few tv stations to dictate for you besides.
Why is division important, and where do we divide these states for action? Division is necessary to any revolutionary movement. I am not suggesting civil war, but there must be an ingredient present to halt the cycle of inaction. We need to take a closer look at the activists in the Middle East. Why are they able to topple dictatorships while we flounder in political misery? Are our freedoms not dwindling with every executive order? Hasn't Congress told us enough times that we don't matter? What will it take? God?
Somebody help. If the god that we swear allegiance to is behind us, maybe we should sit down and let him take the lead... I can't hold my breath that long.
